Pressure Drop and Heat Transfer Analysis of Power Battery Liquid Cooling System

The battery liquid cooling system can ensure that the battery works within a suitable temperature range, improve the safety performance of the battery system, and ensure the cruising range. This paper introduces a design scheme of a stamped double-parallel liquid cooling plate. Based on the STAR-CCM+ simulation software, a thermal simulation model of the battery management system is established to analyze the thermal behavior of the battery system and to study the effect of the inlet mass flow rate on the temperature of the top surface of the batteries. At the same time, with the analysis of the proportion of pressure drop of each component in the liquid cooling plate, an optimization of inserted part in the liquid cooling plate is proposed. The numerical analysis results are compared with the experimental results of the pressure drop to improve the effectiveness of the optimization scheme.

Research on Vehicle Speed Estimation Algorithm with Traffic Camera

Dangerous driving behavior will cause serious traffic accidents, which will not only threaten life and property but also cause traffic congestion and reduce road capacity. Speed detection is an important detection method to identify whether a driver is driving dangerously. Traditional speed detection methods need additional sensors, which will increase the cost of speed measurement. This paper proposes a vehicle speed estimation algorithm based on the imaginary projection plane (IPP). The IPP will be established according to the height, field angle, and vertical tilt angle of the camera and will be used to establish the mapping relationship between the world coordinates and image coordinates of the vehicle. By combining YOLOv4 and DeepSORT, the vehicle license plate is detected and tracked, and the center point of the vehicle license plate is taken as the feature point of vehicle speed estimation. The vehicle speed is estimated according to the IPP.

A Layered Active Balance System for Lithium-ion Power Battery Based on Auxiliary Power

In this paper, a high-efficiency and low-cost lithium-ion battery pack active balance system is designed. It adopts a distributed structure and consists of three parts: auxiliary power module, one-way isolated DC/DC conversion module, and a battery group. The battery single cells in the battery pack are layered and divided into m battery groups in total, and each battery group is composed of n battery single cells. Each battery group is connected to an isolated DC/DC conversion module, and all the conversion modules are connected in parallel with the auxiliary power. Taking the SOC average value of the all-single cells in one battery group as the balancing variable, the auxiliary power is controlled to charge the battery group with the lower SOC average value, so that the difference of the SOC average value of all battery groups is within the set threshold range, so as to realize the active balance of each battery group.

In recent years, various countries have formulated a series of management methods and governance measures for truck overloading. However, the detection method for overload behavior is not efficient and accurate enough. At present, the method of dynamic load identification is not perfect. No matter whether it is the dynamic weight measurement method of reconstructing the road surface or the non-contact dynamic weight measurement method, little attention is paid to the difference of different vehicles. Especially for different vehicles, there should be different load limits, and the current devices are not smart enough.

In the process of truck overload and over-limit detection, it is necessary to detect the characteristics of the vehicle's size, type, and wheel number. In addition, in some vehicle vision-based load recognition systems, the vehicle load can be calculated by detecting the vibration frequency of specific parts of the vehicle or the change in the length of the suspension during the vehicle's forward process. Therefore, it is essential to quickly and accurately identify vehicle features through the camera. This paper proposes a vehicle feature recognition method based on image semantic segmentation and Python, which can identify the length, height, number of wheels and vibration frequency at specific parts of the vehicle based on the vehicle driving video captured by the roadside camera.

Research on Brake Pad Particle Emissions and Temperature Reduction of a Brake Disc in Air Controlling System

This paper addresses the brake pad particle emission during the braking process of a vehicle in motion. The frictional-constant contact between the disc brake and pads results in an increased temperature and wear of the pads. The emission of brake pad particles into the atmosphere leads to an increase in air pollution and hence becomes hazardous to the human body. In this paper, a wheel brake disc is installed in a ventilation system where the specific air flow is introduced in order to investigate the thermal performance and the emission of particles from the brake pads. A mathematical model using the fundamental parameters of the brake disc and ventilation system is established. The behavior of the heat transfer is studied using computational fluid dynamics (CFD). The particle emission rate from the pads is calculated under the assumption of uniform constant pressure distribution at the contact surface of the brake disc and pad.

The sweeper vehicle plays a very key role in maintaining the urban environment. If the sweeper vehicle can accurately and efficiently identify and classify the ground garbage in the working process, it can greatly improve the working efficiency of the sweeper vehicle and reduce the consumption of manpower. Although the deep learning algorithm based on DUC and PSPNet has high accuracy, the recognition speed is low. ENet is a lightweight network, which greatly improves efficiency, but significantly sacrifices accuracy. This paper presents an improved real-time detection lightweight network based on PSPNet, which takes into account the operation speed and accuracy. The network takes PSPNet as the backbone network, and increases the stride in the convolution process, to reduce the size of the feature map and reduce the amount of calculation.

Magnetically coupled resonance wireless power transmission technology (MCR-WPT), as a technological innovation in the electric vehicle industry, is of great significance to promote the development of the electric vehicle industry chain. The current wireless charging technology is affected by the design of the vehicle itself, the distance between the vehicle-mounted part of the wireless charging and the ground is not fixed. And the changeable parking attitude will cause the projection of the transmitting coil and the receiving coil to deviate. Therefore, reasonable matching of transmission frequency, matching impedance and other parameters is of great significance for optimizing power transmission efficiency. This paper establishes a mathematical model of transmission frequency, matching impedance, distance between two coils and wireless power transmission efficiency.

Research on Dust Suppression of Dump Truck

When dump trucks unload dusty materials, dust particles with a diameter of 1 to 75 microns slide out of the dump body and float into the air. Dust particles naturally settle down spending a few hours, which causes air pollution. People who work in this environment daily suffer serious physical harm. To study the movement of dust particles during the unloading process, a scaled-down model is used to simulate the process of dump truck unloading gravel, and a high frame rate camera is used to record the movement trajectory of dust particles during the unloading process. In this paper, by observing the movement process of unloading dust particles by dump trucks, based on the principle of dynamics, a mathematical model describing the unloading of dust particles in the dump body and a mathematical model of the diffusion of dust particles in the air are established. Take the small gravel sampled at the construction site as an example of the experiment.

Research on Heat Dissipation Performance of Automobile Motor Based on Heat Pipe Optimization Design

In new energy vehicles, the electric motor, as the main power source, is developing toward high power density. However, its heat generation problem always affects the overall performance of the motor, so an efficient motor cooling system is especially important. In desert or water-scarce areas, liquid cooling cannot meet the needs of new energy vehicle motor cooling. When glycol or other liquid coolants are low or depleted, motor heat dissipation becomes less effective. Heat pipe is a heat dissipation technology with advantages such as fast thermal response and light weight. In this paper, by improving the heat pipe arrangement and reducing the overall mass of the heat dissipation system, a heat pipe optimization design based on a drive motor heat dissipation scheme is proposed, and the overall stability of the motor working under high temperature conditions is improved.

Research on the Dual-Motor Coupling Power System Strategy of Electric Sweeping Vehicle

The sweeping vehicle has made a great contribution to the cleaning of urban roads. The traditional electric sweeping vehicle uses the main and auxiliary motors to drive the driving system and the operating system respectively. However, because the sweeper is in a low-speed working condition for a long time, and the drive motor must meet the demand for high power, there exist problems of low motor utilization and high cost. Aiming at this phenomenon, a dual-motor power coupling system based on planetary gears is proposed. First, analyze the driving mode of the dual-motor coupling power system according to the actual working scheme of the sweeper, and match the parameters of the motor based on this. Second, on the premise of meeting the power requirements, analyze and divide the working range of each drive mode based on the principle of minimum energy consumption, and then obtain the best drive mode switching control and speed and torque distribution strategy.

With the rapid development of new energy vehicles, the echelon utilization of retired power battery has become an important factor to promote the healthy development of this industry, while the Remaining Useful Life (RUL), as the key reference factor for the echelon utilization of retired power battery, has attracted the attention and research of many scholars in recent years. At present, most prediction methods are based on off-line data, which cannot process real-time data in time, so it is difficult to realize online prediction of RUL. In order to realize the real-time online monitoring and high-precision calculation of lithium-ion battery RUL, this paper proposes a lithium-ion battery RUL prediction method based on data-driven and multi-model fusion. The one-dimensional Convolutional Neural Network (1D_CNN) is used for fast online feature extraction of one-dimensional battery capacity time series data to mine potential hidden information.

With the rapid development of the logistics and transportation industry, heavy-duty trucks play an increasingly important role in social life. However, due to the characteristics of large cargo loads, high center of mass and relatively narrow wheelbase, the driving stability of heavy trucks are poor, and it is easy to cause rollover accidents under high-speed driving conditions, large angle steering and emergency obstacle avoidance. To improve the roll stability of heavy trucks, it is necessary to design an active anti-rollover control system, through the analysis of the yaw rate and the load transfer rate of the vehicle, driving states can be estimated during the driving process. Under the intervention of the control system, the lateral transfer rate of heavy trucks can be reduced to correct the driving posture of the vehicle body and reduce the possibility of rollover accidents.

Measurement and Evaluation of the Conversion of Thermal Energy Generated on the Contact Surface of the Brake Disc into Electrical Energy Using a Thermoelectric Generator

Heat generated by friction between the brake discs and the brake pad causes the disc temperature to rise, which affects the braking performance. This flux generated from the contact surface of the vehicle brake disc not only affects the braking performance but also tends to be wasted and pollutes the environment. However, an accurate system is needed to make efficient use of this generated heat flux, which is usually wasted. Thermoelectric generators (TEGs) are solid-state gadgets utilized in the conversion of heat to electricity. Hence, the aim of this study is to convert the heat flux generated at the disc contact surface into electrical energy by employing a thermoelectric generator. In Addition, the energy harvested energy to power the battery, which in turn charges the temperature monitoring systems. Thermoelectric generators were positioned at different geometrical points of the brake discs to achieve optimal efficiency and energy storage possibilities.

Study on Passenger Cabin under Passive Radiative Cooling Film

Radiative cooling uses the cold space source to cool the object. The radiative cooling film prepared based on the principle can reduce the fuel consumption of automobile air conditioning refrigeration. In this paper, according to the passive radiative cooling principle, taking SiO2 as the radiative cooling film of infrared radiation material, the theoretical cooling value of the passenger compartment of the automobile is calculated and analyzed based on the heat balance equation. The influence of radiative cooling film on the temperature field of passenger cabins was studied by finite element analysis. The results show that the cooling film made of SiO2 as passive radiation material has an apparent cooling effect on the passenger cabins. At the ambient temperature of 35.15°C, the theoretical cooling temperature is 6.7K. When the radiative cooling film is applied to automobiles, the cooling value of the passenger cabin body, seat, instrument panel, and other parts reaches 2.2K-5.1K.

Stair Phase Coding Method Based on Arc Cosine with Only Four Patterns

The stair phase coding method is an important phase unwrapping method, but needs to project and capture many fringe patterns. Therefore, to reduce the number of fringe patterns, we propose a stair phase coding method based on arc cosine with only four patterns. We project and capture a set of three-step phase-shift sinusoidal fringe patterns and a cosine pattern encoding stair phase, and then we compute the wrapped phase and background light from the three-step phase-shift sinusoidal fringe patterns, normalized cosine pattern can be estimated via background light, and the cosine pattern encoding stair phase. Arc cosine calculation is applied to the normalized cosine pattern to obtain the stair phase, then the fringe order is determined from the stair phase. A semi-periodic fringe order correction algorithm based on the dilation image processing technique is proposed to ensure the accuracy of fringe order. The continuous phase is obtained from the wrapped phase and the fringe order.

Analytical Modeling and Multi-Objective Optimization of the Articulated Vehicle Steering System

The articulated steering system is widely used in engineering vehicles due to its high mobility and low steering radius. The design parameters have a vital impact on the selection of the steering system assemblies, such as the operation stroke, pressure, and force of the hydraulic cylinders during the steering process, which will affect the system weight. The system energy consumption is also relevant to the geometry parameters. According to the kinetic analysis of the steering system and dynamic analysis of the steering process, the kinetic model of an engineering vehicle steering system is built, and the length and pressure variation of the cylinder is calculated and validated by the field test. The influence of the factors is analyzed based on the established model. To lower the system weight, needed pressure, and force, the multi-objective particle swarm optimization method is initiated to optimize the geometry parameter of the articulated steering system.

The Development of Software for Automobile Sound Modulation and Application

Based on the technology of the order tracking and extraction, a software for the modulation of sound quality of automotive order sound is developed in this paper. The order analysis, the amplitude modulation of order sound in specific speed range and the calculation of the functional expression of the order sound amplitude are integrated in this software. Furthermore, a side-valve interpolation correction algorithm (SV-ICA) is proposed to solve the problem that the smooth transition of the order sound curve at endpoints cannot be guaranteed, which would result in the appearance of abnormal noise in the modulated sounds. The application of built software in constructing the automobile sounds with the sound quality of sportiness is demonstrated.
